OK, Yeah. I know. I blew it on the odometer picture by 3 lousy miles. But I have a good excuse. I was looking for this…
I had an inspection out in Castleford, ID this morning (not far from the Balancing Rock) & as I was driving out I saw a sign for a State Park that I haven’t seen before, “Niagara Springs”. So on my way back out I wanted to go have a look.
I followed the signs when suddenly the pavement came to an abrupt halt.So I put the ‘Ol Girl in “Baja Mode” (basically just saying “Screw it…) & blasted down the hill. At the bottom of the hill the road went back to asphalt once again, for a whopping 100 ft or so, then back to dirt. I knew I was still on track when I saw this sign…The quail has landed! A little further down on the right was the steelhead hatchery.Pulling in to check it out, there was a little park like setting that quite was pleasing to the eye. You can see some young Steelhead in the water. Across the way you could her the thunder of the falls.
I love a good waterfall, & Idaho sure has a lot of them. The biggest of course is the Shoshone Falls. Lets not forget the Swan Falls either. Oops, almost forgot the Devil’s Washbowl!
Now I can add to the list the Niagara Springs Falls. Across the way from the hatchery is a little spot to pull over. The falls are a quick 2 minute walk, maybe even less, away. Here’s a video capturing the magic!
I could have stayed here for quite some time, but somebody has to pay for this party. So back to the office to write up the inspection. But first, one last shot of the canyon… And Baja Mode back up the to the rim.All in all, not a bad day. Only 2k to go. The TSX is still running strong. Although I will admit there has developed a rather annoying vibration coming from the glove box once in a while. But a quick bump Fonzy style takes care of it. Oh, & the Nav. OH THE NAV! So slow these days! Not sure what to do since Acura discontinued update discs for my car. I guess I’m supposed to go buy a new one? HA! I’ll use google maps & duct tape my phone to the dash before I give up my trusty steed! Until she break down. Then she’s off to the crusher. OK, maybe not.
2,000 To Go!
Beautiful waterfalls. Very relaxing sound. Question: Why is your odometer picture upside down😟 😉
All the cool bloggers are doing it nowadays. I might have to start rotating mine now.
Can it Pal! Haha
I have no idea Carlos. It shows right side up on my screen. I just visited my page from another source that’s not logged in & it IS upside down. Great… nothing like a professional image, right? Thanks for the catch.
Just 2,000 miles left? Wow. Do you have a specific spot planned for crossing 500,000 yet? Also, I ended up in Twin Falls a couple weeks ago and the Shoshone Falls are absolutely beautiful.
Josh introduced me to Shoshone, and I can’t thank him enough!
No where in particular. Just know I’ll be on the freeway somewhere. Next time you’re in town Sunny, let me know. Maybe we could meet up if my schedule permits.
Idaho really looks nice…
I need a new Nav disc in my 2007 RDX, it’s so old sometimes…
2,000 miles… So what, 3-5 weeks… Getting really close now…
I’m surprised you got to 498,000 so fast, though they slacked you off a bit, but the driving seems nice up there…
I’m very excited now!!!
Me too Midnight! Dare I say, Giddy. (Not to be confused with “Gigitty”) Haha
Awesome post! I’m so jealous of all the waterfalls you have up there. It’s too bad I live in the desert because we just don’t have that many to visit around here. I like the sound. Thanks for doing the video, it really brings us there into the scene with you. OMG < 2k miles left! Eek.
Yeah, but you have those awesome Lunar module AC units on top of houses to preserve life.
Tyson, you want to see more waterfalls? Just hang out with me. There are great ones I have discovered within 1000 miles of me in North Carolina. With the power of the TSX, 1000 miles away is practically in my backyard. 😀 I love Mingo Falls and Crabtree Falls In western North Carolina close to the BluRidge Parkway.
